September 11, 2018 - Early this morning, Trinity students, faculty and parents started the day with remembrance. Our country has vowed to "Never Forget" the tragic events of that day in 2001 when thousands of Americans lost their lives to terrorism.
Trinity's YAF (Young Americans for Freedom) chapter consists of a few faithful young men and women who are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values. Annually, they take on the promotion and production of this event, they plant flags in the ground, invite first responders and military to attend in uniform, and ask the Congressman (or a representative from his office) to attend.
This morning, Mr. Gary Medina from Congressman Knight's office was on hand to help us honor the fallen Americans. We saluted the flag, prayed, and had a moment of silence, followed by the playing of Taps by Mr. Brown, Director of Fine Arts. YAF members spoke about the events of that day....a day when many of them weren't even born yet. Nevertheless, the impact of that day on our country is not lost on these students.
