On Friday, September 11th, Trinity's chapter of the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) assembled to honor and remember, and Never Forget, that fateful day in 2001. The day before, the small group of students had placed 2,981 flags in the grass to memorialize the lives lost. The flags set the stage for a patriotic and powerful ceremony.

The ceremony began with the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer, and the National Anthem. Chapman Wolf, Co-Chairman of Trinity's YAF chapter, made a speech that recounted the details of the terrorist attack and he quoted the powerfully uniting words of President George Bush, 

“ A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.”

Wolf then recognized the attack on Americans in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, by having four more flags placed in the grass. YAF Co-Chairman Reagan Fernandez acknowledged veterans and first responders by name who were in attendance, gifting them with American Flag lapel pins. The sound of Taps, played by Trinity sophomore Aiden Leigh, echoed through the Honor Court at the front of the campus. Finally, Chapman Wolf introduced Congressman Mike Garcia, who had prepared a video message to share, and then the ceremony ended in prayer and thanks to those in attendance.
